How this split is counted
Regular hours = the smaller of the week total and the overtime line (usually 40). Overtime hours = whatever is left. 45.00 − 40.00 = 5.00. A 40-hour week with 0 overtime is 40 regular. This is not FLSA, a union rule, or your state’s daily overtime.
Is overtime always after 40 hours? No. Some jobs use 8 in a day, 37.5, or another number. Change the line.
Does this include 1.5× pay? No. Extra pay is a rate. This page only splits hours.
Can I use a 37.5 hour week? Yes. Set overtime after to 37.5.
